Bird Paradise (formerly Jurong Bird Park) is a large, modern asian park located within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve. Aviary Roof / Enclosure Design
A defining architectural feature of Bird Paradise is its expansive walk-through aviaries covered by high, netted roofs. These roofs are typically made of lightweight tensile mesh supported by steel structures. The design allows:
- Natural light and ventilation, creating a climate close to the birds’ native habitats
- Large, unobstructed flight spaces, enabling free-flight behavior
- Visual openness, giving visitors the sense of being inside a natural environment rather than a cage
