Project Description

Al Thumama Stadium is one of the landmark venues developed for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, celebrated for its distinctive architectural design inspired by the traditional gahfiya, the woven cap worn throughout the Arab world. Combining cultural symbolism with advanced engineering, the stadium delivers a visually striking and technically sophisticated sporting venue.

Roof and facade surfaces are of the finest architectural detailing, building up a seamless envelope for the stadium. While the facade is cable-based and clad with membrane elements, the roof has a structural cable net which is added up by secondary steel and then finished with hybrid, framed elements made from PTFE fabric and mesh.
