Project Description
Topgolf Oberhausen is one of Europe’s leading sports and entertainment destinations, combining innovative golf technology with hospitality and leisure in a dynamic architectural environment. A defining feature of the facility is its iconic outfield enclosure, where a series of slender pylons and a large-span cable net create the distinctive parabolic shape of the driving range while ensuring safety and preserving the openness of the venue.
PFEIFER Structures built a significant part of the facility, the complete vertical ball fence. The construction consists of 14 conical steel pylons with a height of 50m, which are braced by PFEIFER PG cables. Horizontal PG cables were tensioned between the pylonson which the 50.000 m² ball fence is mounted.
The construction and design is unique worldwide. By means of lightweight construction, the total tonnage of the steelpylons could be reduced to less than 350 t total weight.
